Most sound mixers working NJ shoots commute from Manhattan, which means travel fees, longer response times, and no familiarity with local locations. I live here. I know which Newark conference rooms have the HVAC units you can't turn off, which Princeton campus buildings have usable power in the hallways, and where to park a sound cart at Liberty Science Center.
I regularly work in Newark, Jersey City, Hoboken, Princeton, Morristown, and the surrounding areas. NYC and Philadelphia are close enough that I cover both without travel day charges.
My clients range from broadcast networks to corporate comms departments to documentary filmmakers. Half-day corporate interview or multi-week shoot, same kit, same rate structure.
